FSC for November is applicable at 10.5% + BAF applied to all shipments
How we calculate FSC
Using a simple in-house algorithm, we calculate the FSC based on the average price recorded in the Platt’s diesel index for the previous month and a number of additional factors. We also maintain an FSC calculator, which helps our clients to defray any future cost increases.
Learn more about how FSC affects your costs
We provide FSC data to our clients so that they can better understand current costs and forecast future expenditure, but we understand that it’s not always an easy thing to get your head around. If you have any questions about the FSC, we’re happy to explain it to you in more detail.
BAF Surcharge
Why we must now add a BAF surcharge
Please note we are now introducing a supplementary BAF surcharge. In the past, we have absorbed BAF surcharges applied by the ferry companies (both direct ferries and UK landbridge routes). Unfortunately, the increases in March 2022 are astronomical and we are now introducing a supplementary BAF surcharge to recover these extra ferry charges.
Low Sulphur Surcharge
As of 1st January 2020, the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) now require all vessels to limit their sulphur oxide output. As a result, a variable low sulphur surcharge is payable on all ferry crossings.
Get a spot rate quote
We prefer to offer quotes based on the current Fuel Surcharge (FSC), last minute availability on existing trucks and a number of other seasonal factors. If you need an all-inclusive spot rate that doesn’t account for these variables, please get in touch.
